Following the game, the Americans will be hosting an online auction for the themed jerseys worn during the game. In conjunction with One World Telecommunications, the Americans will utilize their own online auction website, amshockeyauctions.com, which will serve as the official online auction site for the 2012 Nuclear Night Jersey auction.

Starting on Friday, January 6 at 10:00 p.m. (PST), all 24 player jerseys will appear on the site and will be available for bidding. In addition to the player's jerseys, fans will also have the option to bid on the Nuclear Night jersey from the Americans' mascot, Winger.

It will be a live auction, with fans able to see the current high bid on their jersey of choice. All jerseys will have a minimum $200.00 (USD) bid with a Buy It Now option of $500.00 (USD). All bids must be in whole-dollar amounts and must be at least one dollar ($1.00) higher than a previous bid. When fans visit the site, they will be asked to register with a current e-mail address and password (up to 10 characters in length). No personal information from your registration will ever be made public or shared with anyone outside of amshockeyauctions.com.

Fans with any questions regarding the Nuclear Night Jersey auction should contact the Americans' offices at 509.736.0306 or via e-mail at info@amshockey.com.

Proceeds from the night's events, including the game-worn jersey auction, the sale of autographed team memorabilia and other fundraising activities will benefit the Americans' Player's Continuing Education Fund.

About the WHL Scholarship Program:

The Western Hockey League recognizes the paramount importance that parents and players place on education. That is why the WHL and Canada West Universities have teamed up to provide Western Canada's Premiere Hockey Scholarship.

For every season a player plays in the WHL, they receive a full year guaranteed Scholarship, including tuition, textbooks and compulsory fees, to a post-secondary institution of their choice. For example, players graduating from a four-year WHL career are eligible to receive four years of scholarship funding. The WHL Scholarship, combined with additional financial assistance from Universities in Western Canada, makes the WHL - Canada West Universities joint scholarship equivalent to any other offer available in North America today.

Since 1993, Western Hockey League Clubs have provided close to 3,000 Scholarships representing an investment in excess of $9 million, making the WHL the leading provider of hockey scholarships in Western Canada. The WHL Scholarship not only encourages its graduates to pursue a post-secondary education, it also affords graduates the opportunity to continue playing hockey at an elite level in the Canadian University or College systems. Each year over 230 WHL graduates receive a WHL Scholarship.
