St. Paul 1, Winnipeg 0

Pitching dominated Saturday night's contest between St. Paul and Winnipeg, with nary a run produced in more than 11 innings of baseball. But with one out in the bottom of the 12th inning, Saints 3B Ronnie Bourquin gave the home fans what they had been looking for for more than three and a half hours. A run. Bourquin sent a fly ball to Winnipeg RF Josh Mazzola, a shot deep enough to score DH Willie Cabrera from third and give St. Paul a 1-0 victory. Bourquin had the game's lone RBI without a hit to his name while Cabrera joined St. Paul 1B Ole Sheldon for a game-high three hits. Neither starting pitcher factored in the decision, but both put in valiant efforts. St. Paul starting hurler Kyle Ruwe threw what would have bene a complete-game shutout if not for a matching effort from a pair of Winnipeg pitchers. Goldeyes starter Todd Privett threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball before handing the game over to the bullpen.

Lincoln 9, Newark 0

The Saltdogs got a gem of a performance from starting pitcher Brandon Sinnery against Newark on Friday. Sinnery struck out eight Newark batters in a complete-game two-hitter while walking just two Bears batters. The Saltdogs offense gave Sinnery support early and often, powering Lincoln to a 9-0 victory in interleague play. Leading the way offensively, Linconl 1B Jimmy Rohan went a perfect 4-for-4 with a run and a game-high three RBI. Rohan was joined by three Lincoln batters in the multi-hit club, including RF Matt Forgatch, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in his first appearance in a Saltdogs uniform.

Laredo 15, El Paso 1 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

Lemurs starting pitcher Matt Way spared the Laredo bullpen in Game 1 against El Paso, throwing all seven innings and allowing one run on six hits with three strikeouts. The Lemurs scored in bunches in support of their starting hurler, scoring four or more runs in three separate innings on their way to a 15-1 win, Laredo's seventh in a row. Nearly half of the team's runs came in the sixth inning, as a three-run home run from DH Kyle Nichols capped of a seven-run frame. Nichols' homer was his first hit with the club and his only knock of the game. El Paso's lone run came in the top of the sixth inning on a Jermy Acey RBI single. Acey went 2-for-3 as the only Diablos player with more than one hit.

Laredo 7, El Paso 6 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

After watching a one-run lead turn into a two-run deficit in the top of the final scheduled inning, the Lemurs secured their winning streak with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a walkoff, 7-6 victory over El Paso. All three runs scored on a Uriak Marquez double. Marquez scored a game-high three runs, going 2-for-4 on the night. Laredo has won eight games in a row, the longest active streak in the American Association.

Amarillo 7, Grand Prairie 3

The Sox scored at least one run in inning Nos. 3 through 7 against Grand Prairie, taking a 7-3 victory in the process. Amarillo LF Tim Alberts drove in RBI No. 70 on the season thanks to a game-high four hits that increased his average to .329. One of those hits was Alberts' ninth triple of the year. The AirHogs got on the board first and led, 2-1, after the top of the fourth inning. But the consistent attack from the Amarillo batter's box quickly dispelled with that and sent the Sox to victory. Starting Amarillo pitcher Ryan Mitchell threw all but the ninth inning, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts. At the plate for Grand Prairie, leadoff CF Keanon Simon scored twice while going 2-for-4 in the losing effort.

Sioux Falls 4, Sioux City 3

Sioux Falls needed 3B Jake Taylor to come through. With the game between the Pheasants and the Explorers of Sioux City tied at three, Taylor stepped to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs and the winning run on second base. Taylor took strike one but didn't wait much longer. On the second pitch of the at-bat, Taylor singled to drive in DH Cesar Nicolas to give the Pheasants a 4-3 victory. Sioux City had just tied the score in the top of the frame when Jorge Delgado singled in Peter Barrows, a run that nearly forced bonus baseball. The Explorers led, 2-0, before a three-run Pheasants fifth tilted the tables in Sioux Falls' advantage. Nicolas scored twice as the only Pheasants player with more than one hit, going 2-for-4 on the evening. Sioux City 1B Delgado had a game-high three hits in four at-bats with the lone ninth-inning RBI.

Fargo-Moorhead 8, Kansas City 3

RedHawks DH Ray Delgado was one of three Fargo-Moorhead players to go yard in Friday's 8-3 victory over Kansas City. And he did it twice. Delgado hit his 17th and 18th home runs of the year, going 2-for-4 and driving in three total runs. Starting RedHawks pitcher Aaron Shafer struck out seven in seven innings of work while allowing one run on seven hits to earn his ninth win of the year. Kansas City got two hits, a run and an RBI from leadoff man Justin C. Bass, who is now batting .306 on the year. Bass' teammate playing RF, Ray Sadler, was the only other T-Bone with multiple hits. Sadler went 2-for-4 with a strikeout.

Wichita 6, Gary SouthShore 4

In seven of their nine innings at the plate, Wichita batters could do little to break out against Gary SouthShore pitching. But a pair of homers between innings six and seven propelled the Wingnuts to a 6-4 victory over the RailCats. The first blast, a three-run John Rodriguez shot in the sixth, gave Wichita its first lead of the game at 3-2. And after the RailCats tied the score in the top of the seventh, the Wingnuts answered back with a two-run CJ Ziegler round-tripper in the bottom of the frame. Rodriguez and Ziegler's homers were the duo's only hits of the night but proved to be too much for the RailCats to overcome.
