Amarillo 7, Grand Prairie 4

Grand Prairie reliever Jon Fulton needed just one more out against Amarillo to force extra innings. But Sox SS Jason White had other ideas. The nine-hole-hitting University of Iowa graduate took Fulton's last pitch and sent it over the outfield wall to give his club a dramatic, walk-off win, 7-3. It was only White's second home run of the season. All of the AirHogs' runs came in the fifth inning. And what an inning it was. The frame started with a solo home run from 1B John Alfonso, and three batters later, C Jake Taylor and RF Tyler Henley hit back-to-back jacks to tie the score. The score remained knotted until White's late-inning heroics. Taylor was the only AirHog to register more than one hit, going 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Amarillo 1B Cyle Hankerd and 2B Alex Chavez joined White in the Sox' home run club.

Sioux Falls 8, Winnipeg 3

The Pheasants scored at least one run in each of the first five innings, putting up four in the third en route to an 8-3 win over the Goldeyes of Winnipeg. Sioux Falls C Henry Contreras batted in half of his team's runs, going 2-for-3 on the night, tying for the club high in hits. Winnipeg took a 3-1 lead in the second, with Jon Weber blasting a two-run homer in the second at-bat of the frame. But Sioux Falls' four-run third sent the home club in front for good. Starting Pheasants pitcher Brandon Rapoza threw six and a third innings, allowing the three Goldeyes runs on nine hits.

Sioux City 10, St. Paul 2

Starting Sioux City pitcher Nick Schumacher struck out 10 Saints batters and allowed two hits on just two runs in his complete-game effort that led to a 10-2 Explorers run. Schumacher's pals in the Sioux City lineup shared pretty evenly in the team's 10-run game, with seven different batsmen batting in runs. Sioux City 3B Wally Backman hit the club's only home run - a solo shot that doubled his team's lead to 2-0 in the third - to highlight his 3-for-5 night. Teammate and DH Ray Serrano also went 3-for-5, but did Backman one better, sharing the team lead with two RBI. Serrano aslo scored a game-high two runs. Saints 1B/2B Ronnie Bourquin scored both of the team's runs, including a solo home run in the seventh. But it wasn't nearly enough for the home club to take the win.

Shreveport-Bossier 3, Fort Worth 2

The Cats held the lead or a tie for most of the game against Shreveport-Bossier. But back-to-back two-out singles from SS John Johnson and 2B Mike Provencher changed all that. Johnson stole second after his base knock and rounded third to come home on Provencher's hit, giving the Captains their first and only lead of the game. That lead held, and Shreveport-Bossier took a 3-2 win. Provencher got the Captains' scoring started in the third on a sacrifice fly that scored LF Alex Cowart to tie the score at one. Johnson also held team honors as the only player with more than one hit. He went 2-for-3. Cats DH Ryan Patterson hit a solo homer and scored both of Fort Worth's runs, going 1-for-4.

Lincoln 12, Kansas City 5

The Saltdogs picked up 18 hits and scored a dozen runs Friday night, easily defeating Kansas City, 12-5. Lincoln leadoff CF Blake Gailen was in on four of the team's runs, batting in two and scoring two of his own to add to an already impressive 4-for-5 evening. One man behind Gailen in the lineup, LF Gavin Dickey went 3-for-4 with two runs and a game-high three RBI. Both Gailen and Dickey had two doubles in the game. A majority of the Saltdogs' runs came in the fifth, when seven hits led to eight Lincoln players crossing home plate. The T-Bones were silent for most of the night, with Lincoln starting pitcher Jino Gonzalez allowing only five runs and striking out five in six shutout innings. After Gonzalez' exit, Kansas City put some runs on the board, most notably a two-run Ray Sadler single in the ninth. But it was too little, too late.

Gary SouthShore 7, Fargo-Moorhead 6 (10 innings)

Nine innings couldn't contain Gary SouthShore and Fargo-Moorhead on Friday night. But 10 did just fine. RailCats 2B Brad Boyer had three hits in Gary SouthShore's 7-6 win over fargo-Moorhead, including the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning. It was the second RBI of the game for Boyer, who also scored two runs. The RedHawks scored five runs in the eighth inning to tie the score at six runs apiece, eventually forcing extras. But it seems the big inning took everything Fargo-Moorhead had, and the RedHawks had just one more hit the rest of the night. RedHawks leadoff SS Zach Penprase scored twice and batted in two runs on a 1-for-4 night. Gary SouthShore reliever Brian Grening went only one third of an inning, but earned the win for the RailCats. It was Grening's fourth victory of the year.

El Paso 5, Wichita 5 (In Progress - Top 11)

The Diablos and Wingnuts are knotted at five runs apiece in the 11th inning. No team has led by more than two runs all night, with one being the largest advantage for either club since the bottom of the fourth inning. Wichita C Edwin Bellorin is 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI to lead or co-lead both teams in each category.
