Fort Worth scored three times in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead and led the game throughout as they rolled to an easy win over Shreveport. All but one Cats hitter recorded a hit in the game and each of the first seven hitters in the Fort Worth lineup recorded multi-hit games. Cats RF Charles Carter led the way, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI. Fort Worth DH John Allen was also 3-for-5, driving in a run and scoring once as well. Cats starting pitcher Joel Kirsten picked up the victory, his seventh of the season. He allowed six runs, four earned, on 10 hits in six innings of work.

Time: 3:04 Attendance: 1,539 W: Cameron Cheek (4-2) L: Jusef Frias (5-6) S: None HR: SC-Walter Young (4) The Sioux City Explorers effectively put this one away in the first inning, thanks to six runs in the bottom half of the frame that gave them a 6-0 lead. That was more than enough for starting pitcher Cameron Cheek who allowed two runs on six hits while striking out nine in seven innings of work to notch the win. With the victory, Cheek runs his mark to 4-2 on the season. Explorers LF Chad Gabriel had a big night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and four RBI. Sioux City 1B Walter Young, the American Association Batter of the Week, also pitched in with a home run and was 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sioux Falls 9, St. Paul 5 @ St. Paul, MN. Time: 2:56 Attendance: 6,331 W: Travis Kane (9-5) L: Charlie Ruud (11-3) S: Kris Regas (23) HR: SF-Kennard Bibbs (2); SP-Heath Keel (4), Brent Krause (13) Sioux Falls took control of the game early, holding a 5-0 lead after three innings and held off the Saints late to seal the win on the road. Canaries starting pitcher Travis Kane allowed three runs on 11 hits while striking out six in 7 1/3 innings en route to the victory, his ninth of the season. Sioux Falls LF Kennard Bibbs had a good game at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Canaries closer Kris Regas came on with two out in the ninth and shut down a St. Paul rally to earn his 23rd save of the year which ties the league record. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Lincoln 16, Wichita 6 @ Lincoln, NE. Time: 3:17 Attendance: 3,135 W: RD Spiehs (3-2) L: Doug Hurn (4-3) S: Benny Cepeda (2) HR: WW-Vic Davilla (3); LS-Skip Adams (4) After falling behind 4-0 in the top of the second inning, the Lincoln bats came alive in the bottom of the frame, rallying for nine runs to take a 9-4 lead. It was smooth sailing from there for the Saltdogs, who went on to win by 10. Lincoln 1B Dustin Yount led all hitters in the game, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI. Saltdogs 2B Skip Adams also had a good game at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and five RBI. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Grand Prairie 5, Pensacola 4 (11 innings)

The Grand Prairie AirHogs found themselves behind 4-2 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, but rallied to tie the score at 4-4, then pulled off the win with a run in the 11th. AirHogs RF Michael Conroy led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Grand Prairie reliever Vinnie DeChristofaro allowed one hit in a scoreless 10th and 11th inning to notch the victory, giving him five on the season. Pensacola CF Francisco Leandro was 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in the losing effort.
