Lincoln 5, Grand Prairie 4 (Game 2 - Regularly Scheduled/7 Innings)

The Lincoln Saltdogs overcame a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Grand Prairie AirHogs 5-4 in the regularly scheduled game. Each team scored a run in the first inning, and then Grand Prairie took a 4-1 lead in the top of the third when RF Stephen Douglas scored a run and then DH John Alonso hit a two-run homer. Lincoln C Jeff Howell hit a two-RBI double in the bottom of the fourth to cut Grand Prairie's lead to one run. In the bottom of the seventh, Saltdogs 3B Curt Smith hit an RBI single that tied the game 4-4. Two batters later, with the bases loaded, LF Rafael Alvarez drew a game-winning walk with the bases loaded to give Lincoln the 5-4 victory. Lincoln reliever Garrett Sherrill pitched a scoreless seventh inning to earn the win.

Amarillo 1, Shreveport-Bossier 0

Amarillo starting pitcher Matt Elliott pitched a complete game shutout as the Sox edged the Shreveport-Bossier Captains 1-0. Elliott scattered five hits and fanned four batters to improve his record to 8-4 this season. The game's lone run came in the top of the seventh when Sox 1B Lee Cruz hit an RBI sacrifice fly to the left fielder that scored RF Jeremy Sauceda. Sauceda was the only Sox hitter to have a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 at the plate. Though he earned the loss, Captains starter Ryan DiPietro pitched 6.1 strong innings, allowing just one earned run on five hits while striking out five batters.

Wichita 10, Sioux City 7

The Wichita Wingnuts scored three in the fifth inning and four in the top of the sixth to take a 10-1 lead at that point, but then had to survive a late Sioux City comeback to defeat the Explorers 10-7. Wingnuts 3B Juan Richardson had three RBIs and went 2-for-5 at the plate with a double. Catcher Edwin Bellorin went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored for Wichita, and RF Peter Barrows had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Wingnuts starting pitcher Ryan Hinson earned the win for his six innings pitched. Hinson conceded five runs on nine hits. Josh Dew struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn the save for Wichita. Explorers DH Brett Flowers went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in a losing effort.

Fort Worth 9, El Paso 6

The visiting Fort Worth Cats outlasted the El Paso Diablos for a 9-6 win at Cohen Stadium. Cats 1B Trent Lockwood and SS Butch Ballez each had two RBIs in the game. Lockwood went 1-for-5 and scored a run, and Ballez went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored. Center fielder Ryan Patterson had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Cats, and C Kelley Gulledge went 5-for-6 with a double and three runs scored. Fort Worth starting pitcher Aaron Cunningham was credited with the win and pitched 4.2 innings. Cunningham conceded three earned runs on six hits. Nick DeBarr earned the save for Fort Worth. Diablos SS Maikol Gonzalez went 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs in a losing effort.
