Gary SouthShore 5, Shreveport-Bossier 2

Gary SouthShore led Shreveport-Bossier 4-0 after three innings and the RailCats held onto their lead to sink the Captains 5-2 in game two of a doubleheader at U.S. Steel Yard Stadium. Center fielder Toddric Johnson and first baseman Mike Rohde each scored a run in the second inning to put Gary SouthShore on the board, and second baseman Brad Boyer led off in the bottom of the third with a solo home run. Rohde's sacrifice fly to left field scored right fielder Cristian Guerrero for the RailCats' fourth run. Both teams scored a run in the fourth inning, and Shreveport-Bossier scored again in seventh, but it wasn't enough to top Gary SouthShore. Boyer led the RailCats with two hits, one run and one RBI in four at-bats, and third baseman Bryan Sabatella chipped in two hits for the Captains. Ryne Reynoso, now 2-3 on the season, earned the win by allowing six hits, one run and striking out two in five innings pitched.
