
Amarillo Loses in Shootout

Corpus Christi - After their season best four game win streak, the Gorillas went 0-1-1 this week, capped off by a 4-3 shootout loss to the Corpus Christi Rayz on Saturday night at the American Bank Center.
Chris Shaffer had the game winner in the shootout for the Rayz, after both teams went one for five to start the shootout, and Shaffer was the sixth shooter, beating goalie Dan Bauer high to the glove side.
Amarillo outshot the Rayz 47-27 in the game, and got a shorthanded goal from Grant Selinger late in the third to send the game to overtime. The Gorillas also got goals from Chris Lipsett and David Nimmo.
Rayz goalie Jason Tapp turned aside 44 shots, earning his ninth win of the season.
The Gorillas will be off for Christmas, before heading out on the road for a game on Thursday at Odessa, followed by games on Friday and Saturday night at New Mexico.
