Sebastien Centomo made 30 saves to lead the Mississippi RiverKings over the Texas Brahmas tonight 3-1 at the DeSoto Civic Center.
The win extends the RiverKings' winning streak to a season-high six games and moves them into sole possession of first place in the Northeast Division.
After a scoreless first period, Zach Pearson scored his first pro goal 3:24 into the second to give the RiverKings (18-6-1) a 1-0 lead. The Brahmas (13-8-1) responded right away, however. Grant Jacobsen scored his fourth of the season at 5:58 to tie the game.
Louis Dumont put the RiverKings ahead for good with his sixth goal of the season at 7:45 of the second on a power play. Derek Landmesser gave the team an insurance goal on the power play with his fourth goal of the year at 4:42 of the third period.
The RiverKings went two for eight on the power play. The Brahmas did not score on any of their five opportunities with the man advantage.
The RiverKings visit the Youngstown SteelHounds next Friday and Saturday at 6:05 p.m. The pre-game show begins both days at 5:55 p.m. on Y 96.1 FM.
