Alouettes Add Jimmy Bean to the Practice Roster

Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that the club has added American defensive end Jimmy Bean to the practice roster.

Bean (6'5'', 250 lbs.) was a member of the Oakland Raiders practice squad in 2016, following his collegiate career with the Oklahoma State University Cowboys where he amassed 103 tackles, 26 tackles for losses and 13.5 sacks in 37 career-games. The 25-year-old also registered ten quarterback hurries while forcing three fumbles.

The Denton, TX native had a great senior season where he made 25 tackles, including 20 solo stops and 10.5 for losses. He was to the All-Big 12 second team and received the Vernon Grant Award, given to the player who shows outstanding leadership, spirit and enthusiasm. Bean joined the Denver Broncos following his time with the Raiders.

The club also announced that Canadian linebacker Brandon Calver as well as American defensive lineman Brandin Bryant have been released.
