Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - The dog days of August are approaching, but the Charleston RiverDogs are ready to send the month of July out in style with a seven-game homestand. From July 20-26, the Class-A affiliate of the New York Yankees welcome the Lexington Legends and West Virginia Power to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
Unique promotions are an essential component of RiverDogs baseball, and the club is excited to host the 9th annual Continuing Legal Education Night on Thursday, July 21. Area attorneys will listen to a lecture from South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Toal and then savor a picnic and Charleston's game with the Houston Astros affiliate.
A RiverDogs Nite Lite, personal beach cooler, and baseball card set are just a few of the great giveaways the Charleston faithful have been treated to, but the latest Go Local Saturday freebie may be the best yet. In honor of Roberto Alomar's induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the first 1,000 fans in the park will receive a vintage Alomar Charleston Rainbows throwback jersey.
Community outreach is another pivotal part of the "Be Your Own Fan" philosophy and Charleston's favorite professional sports team is happy to team with Cintas and its Clothe the Kids program on July 24. Fans who bring five used clothing items to the game will add to the more than 700,000 articles of clothing that have been donated to children worldwide, and get a discounted ticket to the 5:05 p.m. CCPRC Family Sunday game.
Children and adults alike will have a chance to cool off from the blazing heat on Tuesday, July 26 at 12:05 p.m. The Charleston Fire Department is slated to bring its water cannon out, and the whole park will morph into a mini-water park as the RiverDogs wrap up their series with the Power.
The rest of the homestand slate reads as follows:

Youngsters who learned the techniques of hitting from the Yankees of tomorrow will be honored in a pregame ceremony as a reward for their hard work during the clinic. Win or lose, cap off the start to another weekend of RiverDogs baseball in style by remaining in the stands to watch the weekly Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks display which ensures everyone goes home a winner.

As is the case every Saturday, Tricounty residents will also be able to save a $1 on their ticket and find out about some of the best local businesses in the Holy City and beyond thanks to Lowcountry Local First. It's also another CCPRC Family Sunday, meaning one can save money and "Be Your Own Fan" by taking advantage of our regular FREE PARKING and KIDS EAT FREE Sundays, presented by Pepsi. Rock'N'Roll Chorus - a group of talented high-school musicians - makes its return to Charleston and will perform a pregame concert on the field.
