Albany Devils Sign Mark Fraser

ALBANY, NY - The Albany Devils announced today that they have signed defenseman Mark Fraser to an American Hockey League contract. The announcement was made by General Manager Chris Lamoriello. As per club policy, no further terms were disclosed.

Fraser, 28, began his professional career with the Devils organization. He was New Jersey's third choice (84th overall) during the 2005 NHL Draft. Between 2006-2011, the 6-4, 220 lbs. defenseman logged 98 games with the NHL Devils, producing three goals and five helpers for eight points. He also appeared in 233 games with New Jersey's AHL affiliates and had five goals and 40 assists for 45 points.

Born September 29, 1986, Fraser has appeared in 185 career NHL games, including 64 for Toronto and, most recently in 2013-14, 23 for Edmonton. His career totals include four goals, 14 assists, 247 penalty minutes a +5 rating.

In the AHL, he has logged 308 games, including stints with Syracuse (25 games) and Toronto (50 games). Overall, he has seven goals, 50 assists, 504 penalty minutes and a +7 rating.

Fraser is a product of the Ontario Hockey League, posting 13 points 225 penalty minutes and a +16 rating in 117 games for Kitchener. He served as team captain during the 2005-06 season.
