Alaska and Bakersfield square off in conference semis

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces resume their quest for back-to-back ECHL championships next Monday and Wednesday at Sullivan Arena against Bakersfield, who beat Fresno 4-0 Thursday night to advance to the conference semifinals.

Alaska opens its best-of-seven series with Bakersfield in Anchorage Monday at 7:15 p.m., with Game Two scheduled for Sullivan Arena Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. The series shifts to Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield for Game Three Friday at 6:00 p.m. ADT and Game Four Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ADT. If the series required a fifth game, the Condors would host the contest Monday, April 30, at 6:00 p.m. ADT. Games Six and Seven, if necessary, would return to Sullivan Arena Thursday and Friday, May 3-4, at 7:15 p.m.

Alaska went 5-3-1 against Bakersfield during the 2006-07 regular season, 3-1-1 in Anchorage and 2-2 on the road. The Aces defeated the Condors in their only prior playoff series to open the 2005 Kelly Cup playoffs, winning a fifth and deciding game at Sullivan Arena by the score of 6-2.

The Aces practice Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on the second sheet at Ben Boeke Arena in preparation for the National Conference semi-finals. Tickets for Monday and Wednesday's games at Sullivan Arena will be on sale at the Aces office tomorrow during regular business hours and Sunday between Noon-5:00 p.m. as well as online at www.alaskaaces.com, Ticketmaster, or at participating Fred Meyer locations. All 2007 Kelly Cup playoff games will be broadcast live on the flagship home of Aces hockey, KFQD 750 AM, with Monday night's coverage getting underway at 6:55 p.m. All road games during the postseason will be simulcast on GCI Cable Channel 1.
