Cyclones Announce North Division Final Series Schedule
April 20, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones have received their schedule for the North Division Finals series against the Dayton Bombers. The best-of-seven playoff series will begin on Sunday, April 22 at the Nutter Center at 5pm. Cincinnati's first home game will be the third game of the series on Friday, April 27 at U.S. Bank Arena at 7:30pm.
The series will feature the traditional two-three-two format. The first two games will be played in Dayton, the middle three are scheduled at U.S. Bank Arena and the final two will return to the Nutter Center in Dayton, assuming the series runs the full seven games.
The Cyclones, the number three seeded team in the North Division, pulled off a three-game sweep of second-seeded Toledo in the best-of-five semifinal round-including a pair of wins in Toledo. Dayton, the regular season North Division winner, swept Trenton in three games as well. It is the second time that the clubs will meet in the ECHL playoffs, Dayton sweeping Cincinnati in three games in a divisional semifinal in 2002.
"The series with Dayton has been pretty even this season (Cincinnati had seven wins to five wins for the Bombers)," Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "It has been a strong rivalry and one that fans from both cities have been able to get into. With proximity of the two arenas, it should be a lot of fun for fans of both teams in this area."
