No. 1 Dayton Bombers (37-26-9) vs. No. 3 Cincinnati Cyclones (37-29-6)

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sweeps in the semifinals have set up an all-Ohio battle in the North Division Finals between regular season champion Dayton and third-place Cincinnati, who were separated by only three points in the final standings.

It is the third time that Dayton and Cincinnati, who are located 62 miles from each other, have met in the ECHL postseason. On their way to a berth in the 2002 Kelly Cup Finals, the Bombers swept the Cyclones in the division semifinals, also the last postseason appearance for Dayton. In the other meeting between the cities, Cincinnati beat Dayton in three games in the first round of the 1992 Riley Cup Playoffs.

The North Division Finals are a best-of-seven series with the winner advancing to meet the South Division Finals winner in the best-of-seven America Conference Finals scheduled for May 7-19.

Dayton hosts Games 1 and 2 on Apr. 22 and 25 and Cincinnati hosts Games 3 and 4 on Apr. 27 and 28. Game 5, if necessary, would be played at Cincinnati on Apr. 30. Game 6, if necessary, would be played at Dayton on May. 2 and Game 7, if necessary, would be at Dayton on May 3.

The Cyclones, who had a voluntary suspension for each of the last two years, have reached the Kelly Cup Playoffs three times in four seasons since relocating to Cincinnati in 2001-02. In 2003 they advanced to Game 7 of the conference finals before losing to eventual Kelly Cup champion Atlantic City.

Dayton won the last regular season meeting 3-2 at Cincinnati on Apr. 5 and the Bombers were 3-2-1 on the road and 5-5-2 overall against the Cyclones in 2006-07. Cincinnati won the last meeting at Dayton 3-2 on Mar. 18 and the Cyclones were 4-2-0 on the road and 7-4-1 overall against the Bombers in the regular season.

Cedrick Desjardins was 4-4-0 with two shutouts and a goals-against average of 2.23 in eight games against the Bombers.

Berkhoel posted back-to-back 1-0 wins against Trenton, making 30 saves on Apr. 19 and stopping all 14 shots on Apr. 16, and he has not allowed a goal in 121:06. The ECHL Goaltender of the Year is 3-0 and leads the Kelly Cup Playoffs with two shutouts and a goals-against average of 1.00 while he is third with a save percentage of .960.

Desjardins, who was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and who finished third in voting for ECHL Rookie of the Year, stopped 36 shots in a 4-0 win against Toledo on Apr. 19 and he has not allowed a goal in 89:54. He is 3-0 and is tied for the lead with a save percentage of .963 while he is tied for second with one shutout and tied for third with a goals-against average of 1.33.
