(Portland, Maine) - The Akron Aeros (34-33) used a four-run third to beat the Portland Sea Dogs (34-32) 6-2 on Saturday night at Hadlock Field. Portland has dropped the first two games of the series, and fall to 2-4 on the homestand.

Jordan Cooper (3-2) beat the Sea Dogs for the second straight Saturday. The Akron righty worked 5.1 scoreless on three hits and seven strikeouts. Bryce Stowell and Chen Chan Lee combined to pitch 2.2 perfect frames in relief. The Sea Dogs scored two in the ninth on Travis Shaw's two-run homer to right field.

Akron scored four runs in the third inning on back-to-back homers with two outs off Michael McCarthy (0-1). Jesus Aguilar launched a three-run homer off the roof of the indoor batting cage in right field, his 8th homer. Aguilar leads the league with 55 RBI. Carlos Moncrief followed with a solo-homer to right.

McCarthy took the loss in his Double-A debut, giving up nine hits, four runs and fanned two over a season-high, 6.2 IP.

Akron scored twice off Chris Balcom-Miller in the ninth inning on consecutive sac-flies by Jose Ramirez and Ronny Rodriguez.

Michael Almanzar finished 2-for-3 with a run scored, nailing his second triple of the season.

The Aeros took the season series from Portland with Saturday's victory.

The Sea Dogs and Akron Aeros (Indians affiliate) conclude their season series on Sunday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM. Portland sends lefty Drake Britton (5-5, 3.25) opposite Right-hander Will Roberts (4-3,3.80)
