Allen Americans News Release

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, have become the hotbed for immediate help, as for the third time this week, the Allen Americans are loaning players to the American Hockey League.

On Tuesday Allen loaned power forward, Ian Schultz to the Iowa Wild. Schultz is having a career season with the Americans, scoring 19 goals with 19 assists for 38 points.

Today, Americans Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson loaned two more players to the American League, with Spencer Asuchak headed to Providence and Greger Hanson to Oklahoma City.

"Having three scorers out of the lineup allows other players the opportunity to prove what they can do," said Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "The next stretch will tell me who can play the style we need in the playoffs. We have not been good defensively of late."

Asuchak has been on fire of late for Allen, scoring a goal along with the game winner in the shootout on Sunday, as well as scoring the only Allen goal in Tuesday night's loss to Quad City. He has 14 points in 15 games for the Americans this season.

Hanson is third on the active roster in points with 39 (17 goals and 22 assists.) He has four goals in his last five games for Allen.

In addition to Schultz, Asuchak and Hanson, the Americans currently have two others playing in the AHL. Rylan Schwartz and Aaron Dell both are currently on the Worcester Sharks roster. Schwartz had 26 points in 22 games for Allen, while Aaron Dell continues to shine with the Sharks. In 11 games this season, Dell has 1.96 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.

The Americans return to action tomorrow night in Missouri against the Mavericks at 7:05 pm. The next home game is Sunday at 4:05 pm against the Tulsa Oilers. Call (972) 912-1000 for tickets.
