Voting Open for 2014-15 ECHL Fantasy Team
The ECHL is giving fans the opportunity to vote for players to comprise the 2014-15 Fantasy Team, of which, one player from each Member Team will be selected to wear a special ECHL Fantasy Team jersey at an upcoming home game.
The Thunder have preselected three players, Garet Hunt, Tyler Maxwell and Jack MacLellan to appear on the team's ballot while fans have the opportunity to also write-in a selection of their choice. The top vote-getter on the Thunder will wear a special fantasy team jersey on Saturday, March 14 when the Thunder play the Idaho Steelheads.
Voting is now open on ECHL.com . Fans are limited to one ballot during the voting period, which runs until 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 23. Fans can vote for up to one player on each ECHL Member Team's ballot before hitting the "Cast Vote" button at the bottom of the voting page. The results of the Fantasy Team voting will be announced the week of Feb. 23.
Prep for Pink Weekend
The Thunder have played in 18 games on Stockton Arena Pink ice in the history of the Thunder Goes Pink promotion, which is in its ninth season.
In those 18 games played, the Thunder have posted a 14-1-3 record. This is the third time in the history of the event that the teams will play on pink ice for a three-in-three with the Thunder hosting Bakersfield for three (all Stockton wins) in 2010-11 and hosting Bakersfield and Alaska in the 2012-13 promotion (again all Thunder wins).
The team is currently riding a six-game pink winning streak and have at least picked up a point in the last 12 pink games dating back to November 6, 2009.
The Thunder played the Steelheads one other time on Pink Weekend on November 2 and 3, 2007. Glenn Fisher shutout Idaho on the first night while Brandon Schwartz won it for the Thunder the second night in the 4-0 and 3-2 victories for the Thunder.
All-Time Watch
The scoring situation between Garet Hunt, Ryan Constant and Mike Lalonde is in danger of falling to one of the Thunder's star players very soon.
Lalonde's 156 career Thunder points is in jeopardy as Garet Hunt pulled within 2 points of the tying the record with 154 while Ryan Constant sits right behind him at 151.
Both Hunt and Constant have missed time due to injuries this season as Hunt missed 11 games while Constant was placed on Injured Reserve on December 14.
Hunt is the only one close to Lalonde's all-time record of 72 goals with his 60 markers, putting the Thunder captain 12 shy of tying the record.
20-Goals
Tyler Maxwell has now become the first member of the team to score 20 goals this season and first since Joey Martin scored his 20th goal last year on April 5, 2014.
The Thunder have had just one player reach that mark for the last three seasons with Harrison Reed the only man reaching that mark in 2012-13, and Kevin Baker in 2011-12. The last time the Thunder had multiple players to reach a 20-goal season was in 2010-11 when both Chris Lawrence and Fraser Clair did it.
The next closest Thunder players to hit this mark are Tyler Shattock and Jack MacLellan who are both sitting on 11 goals this season. Should Jack Combs report to the Thunder he'd be the second player on the team with over 20 goals as he scored 22 all with the Allen Americans this season.
The last time anyone got to 30-goals? You have to go back to the 2009-10 season when Chris D'Alvise ended the year with 34 goals. That season a total of four players hit past the 20-goal mark including Matt Robinson (traded from Jamestown), Jamie Bates, Oren Eizenman and of course D'Alvise, who led the bunch but was second to Bates in points that year.
News and Notes
The Thunder's current seven-game homestand is tied for the season longest as the Thunder were home for seven games from 11-22-14 to 12-6-14. Garet Hunt is second in the league lead in major penalties with 18. Lukas Sutter leads rookies with 156 penalty minutes. He is now second on the team behind Garet Hunt who has 174 PIMS. Klarc Wilson ranks third in penalty minutes among rookies with 112 PIMS. The Thunder are the second most penalized team in the league with 1,114 PIMS. Wichita is the only team penalized more with 1,125 PIMS. Stockton averages the third most penalty minutes per game at 22.28. Stockton and Evansville have the fewest road wins in the ECHL with just four. The Thunder are 11-12-0 in 23 games that they've scored the first goal of the contest. Stockton has winning records in games played against Bakersfield and Utah. The Thunder have the fourth best power play in the league converting at 20.7%. The Thunder's penalty kill unit is now at the bottom of the league, only killing off 77.5% of power plays against. Stockton and Utah have allowed the second most shorthanded goals in the league with 12. Wheeling has allowed the most at 13. The Thunder allow the second most shots per game at 34.36. The Thunder are 11-1-0-0 when leading after two periods. Tyler Shattock leads the team with 11 multi-point games with James Henry right behind him with 10 multi-point games for the Thunder. Tyler Maxwell is right behind them with nine multi-point games. Tyler Maxwell's 5 point night back on 11/22/14 is still the league high output in a single game. It has since been tied by Brendan Connolly of Alaska, Jason Bast of Idaho and Jesse Schultz of Rapid City.

Six players had streaks broken in last Sunday's shutout defeat to the Eagles.
