Agua Caliente Clippers Acquire Returning Rights to Nnanna Egwu

The Agua Caliente Clippers today announced that the team has acquired the returning rights to center Nnanna Egwu from the Grand Rapids Drive in exchange for guard Dakarai Allen. Completion of the trade is pending a physical.

Egwu, 26, appeared in three games for the Brisbane Bullets of the Australian NBL this season, and averaged 2.3 rebounds in 12.3 minutes. He spent the 2017-18 season with the NBL's Cairns Taipans after appearing in one game for Grand Rapids, and averaged 5.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.9 minutes, while shooting 50.8 percent from the field. A four-year product of the University of Illinois, Egwu was named to the 2015 All-Big 10 Defensive Team and holds collegiate career averages of 5.5 points and 4.6 rebounds in 23.9 minutes across 136 appearances (106 starts).

Allen, 23, appeared in 11 games for the AC Clippers this season, averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds in 11.4 minutes. He appeared in 19 games for the team during their 2017-18 inaugural season, averaging 11.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.0 steals in 34.5 minutes, while shooting 48.5 percent from the field. A four-year product of San Diego State University, he holds career averages of 5.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 18.5 minutes across 134 appearances (51 starts).
