AKRON -- The Akron Aeros (35-25) ended a short two-game losing streak with a dominating 10-4 win over the Portland Sea Dogs (29-27) on Saturday night at Canal Park. Catcher Armando Camacaro, who was just activated from the disabled list on Friday night, recorded five runs batted in and three hits, including an RBI-double and a solo home run in his first start of the 2007 season.

Through the first three and a half innings, Akron and Portland exchanged leads before Akron took complete control of the game behind a five run fourth inning, putting them up 8-4. Jordan Brown's three-run bases clearing triple highlighted the inning for Akron.

The Aeros added two more in the bottom of the sixth as Camacaro singled to bring home Brian Barton and Ryan Goleski.

Cliff Politte started the game for Akron in a rehab appearance in which he was scheduled to just pitch a inning. Following a terrific defensive play in centerfield by Trevor Crowe, Joe Ness replaced Politte and went five and a third innings to remain perfect on the season and improve to 4-0.

Jeff Stevens, Luis Valdez and Jensen Lewis closed out the game for Akron going an inning each, giving up a one hits and no walks. They struck out a combined three hitters.

Akron and Portland will conclude the three-game weekend series on Sunday afternoon at Canal Park. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:05 p.m. and is logo baseball giveaway day. Akron Aeros baseballs will be given away to the first 2,000 people through the gates, sponsored by BPI Information Systems.
