Akron RubberDucks News Release

AKRON, OH - Tickets for all potential Eastern League post-season games at Canal Park will be complimentary to all fans, the Aeros announced today. These tickets will be available beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 9th and fans have several different ways to purchase these tickets in person, over the phone or online. The only fee for Aeros playoff tickets will be a $1 convenience charge for fans purchasing tickets online at www.akronaeros.com. The Aeros are the defending 2009 EL Champions and have won the Southern Division post-season title for five straight years.

As of games completed Wednesday night, Akron sits slightly back of the playoff race in the Eastern League's new Western Division. The Aeros (56-53) are in fourth place, one game behind Harrisburg, 3.5 games back of wild card-leading Bowie Baysox and 7.5 games behind the first-place Altoona Curve. The top two teams from the Eastern and Western Divisions will advance to the EL playoffs beginning Wednesday, September 8th.

If the Aeros capture second place in the Western Division, Akron would host the third and fourth games of the divisional series. These games are tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th (if necessary) and would start at 7:05 p.m.

If the Aeros manage to win the Western Division regular-season crown, the first two and potentially last games of the divisional series would be at Canal Park in downtown Akron. These contests are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 8th, Thursday September 9th and Sunday, September 12th (if necessary), all beginning at 7:05 p.m.

Now, should the Aeros once again advance to the Eastern League Championship Series for a record-breaking sixth consecutive season, Akron would host the first two games of the best-of-five series here at Canal Park. These two games would be tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 14th and Wednesday, September 15th against the Eastern Division post-season champion and would both feature a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

Fans may purchase playoff tickets in person at Infield Outfitters, the official team store of the Aeros, the Canal Park box offices, by telephone at 330-253-5153 or toll-free at 1-800-97-AEROS, or online at www.akronaeros.com with the $1 service charge included. Infield Outfitters is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, along with extended hours on game days.

Exchanges are permissible, subject to availability, for all tickets of non-played divisional series games for a ticket for the potential Eastern League Championship Series games at Canal Park. There are no exchanges for the Championship Series games and because these tickets are complimentary, there are no refunds and they hold no cash value.

The Aeros hope to avoid a four-game series sweep at the hands of the Altoona Curve tonight at 7:00 p.m. and end their five-game losing streak. Akron Left-hander Kelvin De La Cruz (4-5, 4.73 ERA) hopes to spark a win and a possible playoff run at Blair County Ballpark against Altoona lefty Tony Watson (3-1, 2.90 ERA). Join Ken Carman for Thursday's radio broadcast beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Fox Sports 1350 AM and at www.akronaeros.com. For more information, please call the Aeros at (330) 253-5151.
