RECENTLY...The Aeros split a four game series with division rival Altoona.
YESTERDAY...RHP ADAM MILLER notched his Eastern League-leading 15th win of the year (6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 SO).
TODAY...RHP NICK PESCO takes the mound as the Aeros open their final series of the regular season at Erie.
PLAYOFF BOUND... The Aeros have clinched the 2006 Eastern League Southern Division regular season crown. This will mark the Aeros' fourth time in five seasons to participate in the Eastern League playoffs, winning a championship in 2003 and 2005. The first round matchup will be a rematch of last year's division series against Altoona. The playoffs begin on September 6 at Canal Park.
HIGH HONORS...RHP ADAM MILLER has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Year for 2006. Miller has been the ace of the Southern Division leading Akron pitching staff, compiling a record of 14-6 with a 2.80 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP while striking out 150 batters and walking 42 in 147.2 innings of work this season. The right-hander has been dominant for the Aeros all season, giving up one earned run or less in 15 of his 25 appearances and striking out at least seven batters in a game ten different times. Adam, a native of McKinney, Texas, is currently has the league lead in wins (14), and is also among the league leaders in shutouts (1-tied 3rd), ERA (2.80-3rd), strikeouts (150-3rd), WHIP (1.13-7th) and innings pitched (147.2-9th).
MORE HIGH HONORS... Aeros Manager TIM BOGAR has been named the Eastern League Manager of the Year for 2006. In his first season with the Aeros, Bogar has led his club to a league-best record of 79-51 (.608). The Aeros currently have a 9.0 game lead in the Southern Division standings and are poised to win the Southern Division regular season title for the fourth time in the past five seasons. Bogar was also selected by Baseball America as the "Best Manager Prospect" in the Eastern League this season.
MAKING HISTORY...The Aeros are in pursuit of setting some of the best and worst pitching and batting records in Indians AA History...

RECENT TRANSACTIONS...
-On Tuesday, August 29, the Aeros activated INF EIDER TORRES from the Disabled List and sent RHP DAN DENHAM to Triple A Buffalo. The Aeros also sent OF JUAN VALDES to Class A Lake County and received RHP MATT DAVIS from Class A Lake County.

- On Monday, August 28, the Aeros received INF BRANDON PINCKNEY from Class A Kinston and placed INF IVAN OCHOA on the Disabled List with a strained right gluteus maximus muscle
