TONIGHT'S CONTEST...Akron and Harrisburg wrap-up their four-game series tonight at Canal Park, first pitch set for 7:05 p.m...There will be a post-game fireworks display, sponsored by the City of Akron...Starting for the Aeros this evening is RHP FRANCISCO CRUCETA, who is 0-2 in his last two starts (9.0 IP, 17 H, 13 R/ER, 9 BB, 9 SO)...LHP DAVID MAUST goes for Harrisburg.
RECENTLY...Last night, LF NATE GRINDELL and C VICTOR VALENCIA both singled in two runs during a four-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Aeros came from behind to top the Harrisburg Senators, 5-2.
IN THE STANDINGS...Akron holds a 4.0 game lead over second-place Altoona...Altoona takes on New Haven tonight in the final game of their four-game set at Blair County Ballpark in Altoona.
ROSTER MOVE...Today the Aeros sent RHP KYLE DENNEY to Triple A Buffalo and received LHP KEITH RAMSEY from Class A Lake County...With the Aeros, Denney was 7-3 with a 2.52 ERA in 17 starts (100.0 IP, 94 H, 34 R, 28 ER, 24 BB, 85 SO)...His 2.52 ERA is third-best in the Eastern League...This is his second trip to Triple A this season...Ramsey is having a fine year with the Captains, going 11-4 with a 2.83 ERA in 19 starts (114.1 IP, 113 H, 42 R, 36 ER, 8 BB, 88 SO)...His 11 wins are second-most in the South Atlantic League...Ramsey will start for the Aeros on Friday in Erie.
WHO'S HOT...INF LUIS GONZALEZ currently has a seven game hitting streak, batting .542 (13-24) with 8 R...2B JOE INGLETT has reached base safely in 28 straight games...Over his last nine games, C BRIAN LUDERER is batting .367 (11-30) with 6 R, 2 2B & 5 RBI...SS HECTOR LUNA has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, batting .306 (15-49) with 8 R, 2 2B, 1 HR & 2 RBI...Over his last 11 appearances, RHP JOSE VARGAS is 1-0 with 5 saves & a 0.53ERA (17.0 IP, 12 H, 1 R/ER, 6 BB, 20 SO)...Over his last six appearances, RHP KAZUHITO TADANO is 1-0 with a 1.56ERA (17.1 IP, 15 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 6 BB, 20 SO).
