TONIGHT'S CONTEST...Akron travels to Bowie (Baltimore Orioles) for a three-game series, starting this evening at 7:05 p.m...RHP FERNANDO CABRERA toes the rubber for the Aeros tonight as he goes for his third win of the year...Through six starts this season, Cabrera is 2-1 with a 2.32 ERA (31.0 IP, 27 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 12 BB, 38 SO)...His 38 punch-outs are second-most in the Eastern League and his 2.32 ERA is ninth-best in the league...LHP BRIAN FORYSTEK (four-is-tek) goes for Bowie...He has struck out 26 in just 20.2 IP.

RECENTLY...After losing three straight to Altoona last week, Akron bounced back by sweeping the Norwich Navigators in their three-game series...Yesterday, the Aeros came-from-behind to defeat the ‘Gators, 6-5...Norwich scored one run in the fifth, but Akron came back with five runs in the bottom of the seventh and one in the eighth...The Aeros got on the board in the seventh with a bases loaded walk to pinch-hitter LUIS GONZALEZ...2B MAICER IZTURIS promptly followed with a bases-clearing triple, followed by an RBI single by CF GRADY SIZMORE...The Navigators made a game of it, scoring four runs in the top of the ninth inning, but Akron held on for the victory...RHP KYLE EVANS (1-0) posted his first win of the year and RHP JAKE ROBBINS notched his third save.

FIRST-PLACE...All four of the active Cleveland farm teams (Buffalo, Akron, Kinston & Lake County) are either in or tied for first place in their respective divisions...The Aeros are currently tied for first in the Eastern League's Southern Division with Erie.

TRANSACTION...Prior to today's game, the Aeros placed RHP JAKE ROBBINS on the Disabled List with a strained right latisimus muscle and received RHP KAZUHITO TADANO from Class A Kinston...With Kinston, Tadano, 22, was 2-1 with a 1.89 in seven games, which included one start (19.0 IP, 13 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 28 SO)...Tadano was signed by Cleveland on March 13, 2003...He played at the University of Tokyo.

HOT HOT HOT...Over his last three games, RF RYAN CHURCH is batting .500 (5-10) with 1 R, 1 2B, 1 3B & 4 RBI...Over his last five games INF LUIS GONZALEZ is batting .500 (10-20) with 3 R, 2 2B & 2 RBI...2B MAICER IZTURIS has a hit in 21 of his last 22 games, batting .351 (34-97) over that span...Over his last four games, CF GRADY SIZMORE is batting .429 (6-14) with 2 R, 1 HR & 5 RBI.

LEADER BOARD...RHP JEREMY GUTHRIE currently leads the Eastern League in ERA (1.27), is tied for second in wins (4) and is third in innings pitched (42.2)...RHP FERNANDO CABRERA is second in the league in strikeouts (38) and is ninth in ERA (2.32)...RHP KYLE DENNEY is tied for second in the E.L. in wins (4), is tied for third in strikeouts (34) and is tied for fourth in innings pitched (40.2)...RHP RAFAEL BETANCOURT is tied with Denney with 34 punch-outs...2B MAICER IZTURIS is tied for the E.L. lead in hits (43) and triples (5)...INF LUIS GONZALEZ is tied for the league lead in doubles (11) and is fifth in hits (40)...CF GRADY SIZMORE is tied for fourth in RBI (26).

ERRORS...The Aeros have been plagued by errors through their first 36 games...As a team, Akron has committed 60 errors, which leads the Eastern League.
