Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI-Mathieu Tousignant scored the only goal of 20 total attempts between the two teams in the shoot-out to help lead the Admirals to a 2-1 shoot-out win over the Rockford IceHogs at the Kern Center Friday night in the team's first and only home pre-season game.

Magnus Hellberg starred in net for the Ads, stopping 33 shots in regulation and overtime and all 10 Rockford attempts in the shoot-out.

There was no scoring in the first period, although the Admirals had a number of good looks, outshooting the IceHogs 10-4. Milwaukee had three power-play opportunities in the opening period but they couldn't get one by Rockford netminder Antti Raanta.

It looked as though the second period would be without a goal as well, but Ads defenseman Charles-Olivier Roussel broke through with a shorthanded goal with just 32 seconds to play in the frame. Mark Van Guilder and Colton Sissons assisted on the tally.

The IceHogs tied it up early in the third as former Admiral Brad Winchester got one by Hellberg only 56 seconds into the final stanza.

Milwaukee plays another pre-season game Saturday night against Chicago at the Hoffman Estates Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL.

The Admirals open the regular season on Friday, October 11 at the Abbotsford Heat and then will play their home opener on Saturday, October 19th at 7:00 pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
