Adirondack Phantoms News Release
The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have assigned Oliver Lauridsen (D) and Michael Raffl (F) to the Adirondack Phantoms, according to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren.
The moves today bring Adirondack's training camp roster to 34 players entering their two preseason games this weekend.
Oliver Lauridsen, 24, appeared in three preseason games for the Philadelphia Flyers. Last year he played in 15 games with Philadelphia scoring two goals and one assist while accumulating 34 penalty minutes. The "Great Dane" received his first ever NHL call-up in late March and made his Flyers debut on March 30, 2013 against the Boston Bruins and then scored his first career NHL goals on April 23 and April 25.
"Ollie" played in 59 games with the Phantoms in 2012-13 during his second season of professional hockey scoring one goal and five assists with 77 penalty minutes. The Genofte, Denmark native also represented his country in the IIHF World Championships this past May. He was a third-round pick of the Flyers in 2009 out of St. Cloud State (MN).
Michael Raffl, 24, is a native of Villach, Austria who played in four preseason games with Philadelphia as he enters his first professional season in North America. Several teams sought Raffl partly based on his performance with Austria in the IIHF World Championships in May where he had two goals in seven games including a goal and an assist vs. Russia. He signed an entry level contract with the Flyers on May 31, 2013.
Raffl has played seven full seasons in Austria and Sweden compiling a total of 312 games, 101 goals, 100 assists and 201 points. The past two seasons he has played in Allansvenskan, the second-highest league in Sweden. Last year with Leksands IF in that league he played in 49 games scoring 24 goals and 22 assists for 46 points with 40 penalty minutes.
