Admirals Release Ford from PTO

Milwaukee, WI--The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that the team has released defenseman Scott Ford from his Professional Try-Out Contract (PTO) so that he can rejoin the South Carolina Stingrays for the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Ford played in 12 games and recorded two assists and 14 penalty minutes with the Admirals since signing with the team on March 17. He had five points in 40 games with South Carolina in 2014-15 before returning to Milwaukee.

The Fort St. John, BC native has spent parts of seven seasons with the Admirals, including two as team Captain, and his 378 games played are the second most in club AHL history, trailing only teammate Mark Van Guilder.

Overall with the Ads Ford has 14 goals and 31 assists for 45 points, a +37 rating and 577 penalty minutes-also second most in team AHL history. Ford (+24 in 2011-12) and current Captain Joe Piskula (+20 in 2013-14) are the only defenseman since 2003-04 to finish the season +20 or better.

The Admirals will finish up their home schedule on Friday night when they play host to the Toronto Marlies at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
