Admirals Re-Assign Maunu to Toledo, Release Michaud

NORFOLK, VA - Norfolk Admirals General Manager Al MacIsaac today announced that the team has re-assigned defenseman Mitch Maunu to its ECHL affiliate, the Toledo Storm. The team has also released goaltender Olivier Michaud from his tryout contract.

Maunu, 20, is a 6'1", 214 lb. defenseman from Thunder Bay, Ontario in his first professional season. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He signed an AHL Standard Player's Contract with the Admirals this summer.

The Admirals open their seventh season of AHL hockey in Philadelphia on October 6 before heading to Scope for their home opener on Friday, October 13 versus the Springfield Falcons at 7:15 p.m. Individual game tickets for all 40 Admirals regular season games are now on sale at all TicketMaster outlets, charge-by-phone at (757) 671-8100 or at ticketmaster.com.
