Bears announce roster moves, title defense begins Saturday

HERSHEY - The 2006 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today that defenseman Viktor Dovgan and goaltender Daren Machesney have been assigned to South Carolina (ECHL) The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

Dovgan participated in his first North American training camp in HERSHEY, playing in one preseason game. Machesney also saw action in one preseason game, allowing just one goal in a relief effort last Monday against Philadelphia. Both players will report to ECHL training camp with the Stingrays.

Following a season-opening four-game road trip, HERSHEY will play its regular season home opener on Saturday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Pre-game ceremonies that night will honor the 2006 Calder Cup Champions prior to face-off. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
