Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI- The Manitoba Moose avenged their Saturday loss against the Milwaukee Admirals and came away with a 4-2 over the Ads on Tuesday night at the Bradley Center.

The Admirals were outshot by 27-18, recording a new season low for shots in a game.

"The difference between today and Friday was just effort. We started off well in the first period but then gave up a shorthanded goal and that was the start of it," explained Milwaukee Assistant Coach Brad Lauer.

Just 23 seconds into the game, Manitoba netminder Cory Schneider went into the corner to stop a dump-in by Milwaukee, but Sweden native Patric Hornqvist beat him to the loose puck and sent it in front of the net. Before the goalie could return, his defenseman unintentionally knocked the puck into the net. Hornqvist was credited with the unassisted goal as he was the last Admiral player to touch the puck.

The Moose responded at the seven minute mark in pretty fashion. On a shorthanded rush Nolan Baumgartner received a perfect one-timer from Mike Keane that beat Mark Dekanich glove side.

In what proved to be an exciting first half to the first period, just 1:15 later, while the Admirals were on a power-play, rookie Nick Spaling picked up his 10th goal of the season to put them up 2-1. Spaling beat Schneider blocker side on a screened shot after receiving a crisp pass from Tim Ramholt. Mark Matheson was credited with an assist on the play as well for his hand off to Ramholt.

The Moose tied the game at two during an even strength rush into the Admirals zone when once again Mike Keane sent a one-timer across the width of the ice that found center Jason Krog who slammed a beautiful slapshot from the top of the circle to beat Dekanich. Nolan Baumgartner picked up an assist on the play which gave him his second point of the night.

Manitoba took the lead for good when Krog scored his second marker of the nigh. Guillaume Desbiens sent a pass in front of the net right on Krog's tape for an easy snapper. Michael Grabner also notched his first point of the night with an assist on the play.

The Moose put the game away at 2:14 into the third, giving them a 4-2 lead when Travis Ramsey picked up his first of the season on a centering pass during a setup play by Josh Soares and Michael Grabner on a power-play due to a slashing infraction by Nolan Yonkman.

The Admirals return to the ice on Friday night at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center when they play host to the Quad City Flames. Fans can purchase tickets and on-ice passes by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more people receive a minimum of $2 off of each ticket.
