Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose ended a three-game road skid with a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday night in front of 3023 fans at the Bradley Center. This victory caps off the club's 10-game road tour, ending the trip with a 5-3-0-2 record. Mario Bliznak and Travis Ramsey earned singles, while Jason Krog netted two in the second period. Goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 15 shots to maintain his first place ranking over all AHL netminders.
It only took 23 seconds for Milwaukee to claim the lead, when a mix-up in front Cory Schneider's crease gave Patric Hornqvist a wide open net, 1-0.
At 6:34, Manitoba's penalty killers made their debut when Daniel Rahimi was penalized for tripping. The Moose, down an attacker, went on a shorthanded offensive surge allowing Mario Bliznak to net the first shot of the night to even the odds at one.
A minute later and while still on the powerplay, Milwaukee regained the lead when Nick Spaling wired the puck into the mesh for a 2-1 tally.
The Moose benefited from their first powerplay 48 seconds into the second period, but they couldn't connect in the two-minutes and only registered one shot on Mark Dekanich.
At 11:01, Jason Krog earned his 20th goal of the season, with help from Mike Keane and Nolan Baumgartner, to knot the score at two.
Three minutes later, the Moose took the lead. With a short pass from Guillaume Desbiens, Jason Krog snipped his second of the night to put the visitors on top 3-2.
1:56 into the final frame gave the Moose their third powerplay. With a slapshot from the slot, defenseman Travis Ramsey scored his first professional goal to extend Manitoba's lead, 4-2.
One-for-one on the man-advantage, Milwaukee got their second chance at 13:21 when Travis Ramsey was fined for tripping. The home team couldn't connect on their powerplay, or before the game expired and the Moose ended their 10-game road trip with a 4-2 victory over Milwaukee.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Moose are back in white this weekend to host the Peoria Rivermen for the first time this season. Manitoba holds a 9-5-0-0 overall record against the club from Peoria.
