Norfolk Admirals News Release
LOWELL, Mass. - Dustin Tokarski stopped all 24 shots he faced, Dana Tyrell netted his first goal of the season and the #1 ranked power play in the American Hockey League was held off the scoresheet as the Norfolk Admirals (20-23-2-0) improved to 3-0-0-0 on their seven-game road trip with a 1-0 victory over the Lowell Devils (27-17-3-1) on Sunday afternoon at the Paul E. Tsongas Arena.
The Admirals will take two days off before continuing their trip on Wednesday night against the Hartford Wolf Pack. They return to Scope on Wednesday, February 3 to face the Hershey Bears.
Despite out-shooting the Devils 18-7 in the opening frame, the Admirals could not solve Lowell goaltender Jeff Frazee in the game's opening 20 minutes.
The second period saw Norfolk commit three minor penalties that led to power plays for the league's top power play. However, Tokarski and the penalty kill did the job and the teams headed into the third period in a scoreless deadlock.
That deadlock was broken 12:44 into the final frame with Tyrell's first goal of the season. The rookie sent a backhander that Frazee got a piece of. However, the puck deflected into the air and banked into the goal off a Lowell player.
That was all the offense Tokarski would need in his first game back from his first career NHL recall.

The Admirals will continue their seven-game road trip on Wednesday evening against the Hartford Wolf Pack. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. All games are broadcast on STAR 1310-AM, star1310.com and ahllive.com.
