August 22, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-Led by fifth year Head Coach Dean Evason, the Admirals will kick off the 2016-17 season on the road against the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday, October 15th at 7 pm. The Ads will open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 29th at 6 pm against the Iowa Wild at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
The 76-game, unbalanced regular season schedule will conclude exactly six months later in when they host Rockford on April 15th.
After 28 seasons playing at the BMO Harris Bradley Center the Admirals will return to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena for home games this year. The building is currently undergoing $6.3 million in upgrades through a partnership between the Admirals and the Wisconsin Center District. The renovations include new locker rooms and improvements to bathrooms, concessions, and an addition to the merchandise store. The Admirals played at the UWMPA, then the MECCA, from the mid-70s through the 1986-87 season.
Following up on the success of the Education Game that drew nearly 11,000 students and teachers last season, the Admirals will play two school day games this year. The first game will be on Wednesday, November 9th against Chicago and then they will host Cleveland on Wednesday March 8. Both games feature a puck drop of 10:30 am.
For the second straight season, the Ads will have their longest homestand in November, this year with a five-game stand November 4-15. Their longest roadtrip of the year will be right at the start as Milwaukee has five games on the road in advance of the home opener.
December, January and March are the busiest months for the Ads as they will play 13 games in each one.
The puck will drop at 7 pm at all Monday through Friday home games, with the exception of the school day games, and at 6 pm for all Saturday night home contests. Three of the four Sunday games will begin at 3 pm with the lone exception a 5 pm start time for the March 19th game.
Individual tickets for the 2016-17 season will go on sale on September 20, however, Season tickets are on sale for as little $135 and can be purchased by calling the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550 or online.
