Central Division & Saturdays Highlight Wolves' 2016-17 Schedule

GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves unveiled their 2016-17 American Hockey League schedule on Monday, featuring matchups with their seven Central Division rivals as well as some Pacific Division foes. The 76-game slate also includes 25 weekend home games, comprised of 15 Saturday tilts and 10 Sunday matinees.
The Wolves host their 23rd home opener on Saturday, Oct. 15, with a 7 p.m. game against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Allstate Arena. Fans are invited for a free tailgate party from 2 to 6 p.m. in the arena's West Lot. The home opener comes one day after the team's season opener at Grand Rapids on Friday, Oct. 14.
Chicago play 68 games versus division rivals, featuring three home-and-home series with in-state foe Rockford as well as six visits from the 2016 Calder Cup champion Cleveland Monsters (formerly Lake Erie). The Wolves' longest home stand is six games - Feb. 22 to March 9 - with matchups against Cleveland (Feb. 22, March 3, 9), Iowa (Feb. 25, 26) and Manitoba (March 5). The squad's longest road trip of the season - six games - occurs during the annual circus trip, Nov. 4-18.
The Wolves' community initiatives begin immediately with the first Adopt-A-Dog Night on Saturday, Oct. 15, and Breast Cancer Awareness Night, benefiting A Silver Lining Foundation, on Saturday, Oct. 29. The early portion of the Wolves' full promotional schedule features Pokémon GO Day on Sunday, Oct. 30 and Star Wars Night on Saturday, Dec. 3.

For the 16th straight year, the Wolves will broadcast regular-season and postseason games live on television. A complete broadcast schedule will be announced soon. Notes: The Wolves play eight games in October (4 home, 4 away), 12 games in November (4 home, 8 away), 14 in December (7 home, 7 away), 12 in January (6 home, 6 away), 11 in February (7 home, 4 away), 12 in March (5 home, 7 away) and seven games in April (5 home, 2 away)...the home schedule at Allstate Arena features one game on Tuesday, five Wednesdays, three Thursdays, four Fridays, 15 Saturdays and 10 Sundays.
