June 28, 2004 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Aces News Release
A five-run second inning propelled the Aces to an 8-2 win over Bangor, snapping the Aces' nine-game losing streak. DH Stephen Larkin's three-run double led off the scoring in the second, followed by a two-run blast from CF J.P. Smith, only the Aces' sixth home run of the year. They then tacked on single runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings to put the game out of reach. Starter Alex Pena was splendid, allowing no earned runs in eight innings of work, striking out six. C Al Corbeil also aided the Aces' attack by going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two doubles.
