Aces Power Past RedHawks, 14-9

Reno, Nev. - The Reno Aces (22-21) scored the game's first nine runs and led by as many as 11 as they cruised to a 14-9 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (23-19) before 7,947 at Aces Ballpark Saturday night.

The Aces blitzed the RedHawks from the start, getting out to a 9-0 lead through three innings. Reno put up four runs in both the second and third to take early command. They collected hits in each of their first three at-bats with the bases loaded, producing six runs. After three more runs scored in the fourth, Reno led 12-1.

RedHawks pitcher Dallas Keuchel (4-3) allowed 12 runs and 13 hits with three walks over four innings. He had allowed 14 runs for the season, spanning eight starts and 56 innings. The lefty led the PCL with a 2.09 ERA coming into the game. It now stands at 3.75.

Taylor Harbin and Konrad Schmidt each drove in four runs for Reno. Both went 3-for-4, and Schmidt hit the only homer of the game for the Aces-a two-run shot in the fourth. Four other players collected two or more hits as the Aces finished with 18 hits as a team.

The RedHawks had a solid night at the plate, putting up nine runs and 15 hits. Mike Hessman continued his recent tear, going 2-for4 with a home run and an RBI double. Brett Wallace finished 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Carlos Corporan hit a two-run homer, and Jimmy Paredes went 3-for-5, falling a home run shy of the cycle.

Reno pitcher Joe Martinez (1-3) earned his first win of the season. He allowed five runs and nine hits over six-plus innings with three strikeouts and one walk.
