Aces Power Past RedHawks, 14-9

RENO, Nev.-Reno scored the game's first nine runs and never looked back Saturday night, cruising past the Oklahoma City RedHawks 14-9 in front of 7,947 fans at Aces Ballpark.

The Aces put up a run in the first, then four in each of the next two frames to take a lead they would not relinquish. Seven Aces batters registered a multi-hit game, including three-hit efforts for Adam Eaton, Taylor Harbin and Konrad Schmidt. Harbin and Schmidt drove in four runs apiece.

The win went to Aces starter Joe Martinez (1-3), who scattered five runs on nine hits over six-plus innings. Martinez walked one and struck out three, while helping his cause at the plate with two singles, an RBI and a run scored. After his exit, three Reno relievers held the RedHawks to four runs over the game's final three frames.

Saturday's loss fell to RedHawks starter Dallas Keuchel (4-3), who surrendered 12 runs on 13 hits in four innings of work.

Reno's 14 runs matched a season high, while its 18 hits were most in a nine-inning game this season.

The Aces go for their third-straight win and a series victory Sunday afternoon at Aces Ballpark. Reno will turn to RHP Charles Brewer (0-3, 5.82 ERA), while Oklahoma City will counter with RHP Mickey Storey (1-2, 3.98 ERA). First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. PT, and it'll be another Renown Children's Hospital Family Funday featuring Baseball Bingo.
