Alaska Aces News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Davis Parley recorded 33 saves and the Condors scored twice early in the third period to snap a 1-1 tie and pull out a 3-2 victory over Alaska before 5,032 Thursday at Rabobank Arena.

Both teams arrived in Bakersfield short on rest after playing in Anchorage Wednesday night, a 3-1 Aces victory that had pushed the Condors to the brink of elimination. But Bakersfield received a huge break early in Game Three, as a shot by David Kudelka from near center ice slipped under Alaska starter Matt Underhill just 1:59 into the game. That 1-0 lead held up until Ryan Gaucher ripped a one-timer by Parley with 9:01 left in the second period, Alaska's fifth power play goal of the series.

With the game deadlocked 1-1 late in the second period, B.J. Young took a match penalty for elbowing Condors defenseman Luis Tremblay, and the resulting seven-minute power play carried over into the final 20 minutes. Connor James converted a power play goal just 15 seconds into the third period, giving Bakersfield an edge it would never relinquish. Ashlee Langdone blasted home a rebound off the rush with 12:02 left in regulation, a goal which turned out to be the game-winner when Oliver Filion brought Alaska within a goal by whipping a wrist shot by Parley from the left circle at 11:38. The Condors out-shot the Aces 37-35 after being out-shot 76-49 in the first two games of the series.

Bakersfield can force a fifth and deciding game with a win at home in Game 4 Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. ADT. If necessary, Game 5 would shift back to Sullivan Arena Monday, April 18 at 7:15 p.m. Games Four and Five will be broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM and also will be made available on a pay-per-view basis at www.alaskaaces.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
