Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - Davis Parley turned aside 33 shots to backstop the Bakersfield Condors to a 3-2 victory over the Alaska Aces in front of 5,032 fans at the Rabobank Arena on Thursday night. Bakersfield trails the Aces two games to one in their best-of-five series, and forces a Game 4 on Saturday night at the Rabobank Arena.
The Condors took their first lead of the series when David Kudelka fired the puck on goal from the center ice line. G Matt Underhill misplayed it and it trickled through him and in for Kudelka's first goal of the playoffs at 1:59. The Aces got into penalty trouble, giving Bakersfield four first frame power plays, but kept it a 1-0 score.
Bakersfield held the lead for exactly 30 minutes, but the Aces power play struck on a two-man advantage. Ryan Gaucher blasted home a one-timer to make it 1-1 at 10:59. Late in the period BJ Young took a costly set of penalties, getting rung up for a roughing minor and an elbowing major with just over a minute remaining in the middle frame.
The power play carried over into the third period and Bakersfield connected. Connor James notched his first playoff goal just 15 seconds into the period to regain the lead. Ashlee Langdone blasted home a rebound later in the frame to extend the lead to 3- 1. Alaska scored once more to make it a one-goal game but Parley made the lead hold. He stopped 12 shots in the third period and 33 in the game to earn his first career post season victory.
Game 4 will be on Saturday, April 16th at the Rabobank Arena. That night Bakersfield native and American Idol star Amy Adams will be singing the National Anthem as well as performing during the first intermission. She will be available for photos and autographs as well.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Rabobank Arena box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location.
