Reno Aces News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - The Aces had a pair of two-run home runs on Sunday night, but it was not enough, as Reno fell 6-4 to the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park.
Alfredo Marte blasted Reno's first homer in the fifth, as a pinch hitter for Aces starting pitcher Mike Bolsinger. The long ball was his fourth of the season for the Aces, and his first since July 26. It was just the second pinch hit home run for the Aces this season. The other, which also came against the Grizzlies, was a walk-off grand slam off the bat of Ed Easley on June 18.
Brad Snyder, who had two home runs in last night's game, hit one out in the eighth inning to bring Reno within two. He has now homered in back-to-back games twice this season, with the other time coming April 25 - 26.
Aces batters combined for just five hits on the night, including a single by Bolsinger in his lone at bat.
Bolsinger was charged with the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits in 4.0 innings pitched. He struck out six and walked just one in what was his second shortest outing of the season for the Aces.
Relievers Nate Adcock, Chase Anderson and Shawn Camp through four shut out frames to end the game, allowing just a hit each.
The series continues Monday night at Chukchansi Park. RHP Charles Brewer (5-10, 5.28 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Grizzlies will counter with RHP Yusmeiro Petit (5-6, 4.85 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and all of the action can be heard live on KPLY 630 AM.
Tickets are available for Reno's final home series against Salt Lake from Aug. 21 - 25 at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
