BROOKLYN, NY - The North Division's first-place team, the Aberdeen IromBirds swept a doubleheader from the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, with 6-2 and 10-1 victories at Maimonides Park Thursday night.

BIG MOMENTS
Baltimore Orioles No. 2 prospect Grayson Rodriguez struck out nine hitters over five innings of one-run, two-hit ball in his third victory. The 2018 first round pick (11th overall) retired 13 of the final 14 batters he faced.
Aberdeen IronBirds shortstop ripped a two-run single to right field in the first inning against Brooklyn starter Jaison Vilera to give the 'Birds a 2-0 lead. Johnny Rizer's oppo taco solo homer in the fifth made it 5-1.
The Cyclones offense produced a run in the first inning against Rodriguez when Brett Baty slammed an RBI double off the left field wall, scoring Zach Ashford.

Aberdeen's Andrew Daschbach went 2-4, driving in five runs for the 'Birds. The first baseman collected a two-RBI single in the four-run second inning and cleared the bases with a three-run double in the third inning to push the lead to 7-0.
IronBirds pitcher Blaine Knight nearly earned the victory, spinning 4 2/3 innings of four-hit ball. The Arkansas native allowed one run and one walk with six strikeouts.
Zach Ashford banged an RBI double off the wall in the fourth inning, scoring Brett Baty who had walked earlier in the frame.
