Aberdeen Falls in Game One to Vermont

Aberdeen, M.D. - After a sweep of Mahoning Valley on the road, Aberdeen came home to see the Vermont Lake Monsters in game one. Through five the IronBirds were up 6-2, but Vermont scored five unanswered and won 7-6.

BIG MOMENTS

Bottom of the 1st: Already down one, Aberdeen answered. With two on, Kyle Stowers droped an RBI single into right to tie the game. Andrew Fregia doubled home a pair and made it 3-1 IronBirds.

Bottom of the 5th: Aberdeen extended the lead with another three run frame. Shayne Fontana and Toby Welk had singles, with Lenin Rodriguez and Dalton Hoiles getting hit by pitches to help move guys around.

Top of the 6th: Vermont scored two runs on two hits after Kyle McCann's leadoff single.

Top of the 7th: Aberdeen's defense struggled again. Marty Bechina had an RBI double, with Kevin Richards driving one in on a single

NEWS AND NOTES

After winning three in a row the IronBirds had the streak snapped, and are now 28-19 on the year.

Aberdeen was outhit for the first time this week, and gave up seven runs
