Niles, O.H. (August 1st, 2019) - After a stellar July, Aberdeen started August with more of the same. More great pitching and a few clutch hits brought the birds a 4-1 victory in the Buckeye State.

BIG MOMENTS

Top of the 3rd: Already down 1-0, Aberdeen tied the game with a solo homer for Toby Welk. Another run scored on Clay Fisher's RBI double and the 'Birds were up 2-1

Top of the 6th: Two more for the 'Birds came on an RBI single for Welk that scored Dalton Hoiles. Adley Rutschman scored from third on a misplayed relay at short.

Aberdeen swept their second opponent of the year to hang on to a top spot in the McNamara divison.

As a team the IronBird pitching staff has a 2.30 ERA, the best in all of professional baseball.

Welk became the fourth IronBird to have multiple homeruns this season
