WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Held to just three hits all night, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, were shutout 1-0 by the Williamsport Crosscutters Friday night in the series opener at BB&T Ballpark and Historic Bowman Field.

BIG MOMENTS

Williamsport's pitching staff held the Cyclones to three runs, tossing a three-man shutout. Adam Leverett, Junior Tejada, and Rafael Carvajal combined to strike out nine Cyclones in the series opener.

Logan O'Hoppe, a Long Island native, doubled in a run in the bottom of the first to put Williamsport ahead 1-0.

Cyclones starter Michel Otanez took the tough-luck loss, allowing one run on four hits over 5 1/3 innings.

NEWS & NOTES

-The Cyclones were held to just three hits for the fourth time this season, tying a season-fewest total.

Friday's game checked in a two hours and six minutes, becoming the fastest game of the season.

Brooklyn batters had three three-ball counts of the 30 plate appearances.
