Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce that goaltender Joel Martin was selected as the UHL's Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Month and the Easton Rookie of the Month for November.

In November, no goaltender in the league had a better month than Martin. In eight appearances between the pipes, the native of Three Hills, Manitoba went 8-0-0 with a minuscule goals against average (GAA) of 1.25, a save percentage of .957 and 2 shutouts.

On the season Martin, is 9-0-0 and leads the league in GAA (1.22), save percentage (.958), and shutouts (2). In fact, Martin is the only goaltender with a goals against average under two goals a game.

For the second straight month, a K-Wings goaltender has been honored by league, as its Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Month. In October, goaltender Jeff Reynaert earned the UHL's monthly award.

Martin becomes the first K-Wing in the team's UHL history to earn the Easton Rookie of the Month Award.

The Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Month Award is the first earned by Martin in his UHL career.

The K-Wings will continue their four-game road swing tomorrow night, December 2nd against the Elmira Jackals.

The K-Wings will return home next Wednesday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m., when they host the Flint Generals on WKZO Merchant Night.
