
Muskegon's Bouchard, Kalamazoo's Martin earn monthly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Thursday that Muskegon Fury right wing Robin Bouchard has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month and Kalamazoo Wings goaltender Joel Martin has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Month for November.
Bouchard completed the month with 23 points (13g, 10a) and a plus-9 rating in 12 games played. He registered at least one point in each game during the month and has tallied a point in each game this season for a league leading 15-game point streak. In November, he had eight multi-point games and four multi-goal games. The 32-year-old native of Jonquiere, Quebec had a six-game goal streak from November 11th to November 24th. On Friday, November 18th vs. Fort Wayne, he dished out the 1,000th assist of his career when he assisted on the game-winning goal in the 9-6 victory. The next evening, he netted the 500th goal of his career during the 4-2 loss to Kalamazoo. Bouchard currently leads the UHL with 16 goals and has become the all-time UHL leader in power play goals (176).
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month include: Adirondack center Sylvain Cloutier, Danbury center David Hymovitz, Elmira center Chris Chaput, Flint forward Fabien Laniel, Fort Wayne left wing P.C. Drouin, Kalamazoo defenseman Daniel Carriere, Missouri center Lars Pettersen, Motor City center Brent Gretzky, Port Huron defenseman Jeff Cameron, Quad City forward Evgeny Lazarev, Richmond defenseman Dan Vandermeer, Roanoke defenseman Alex Jerofegevs, Rockford left wing Jason Notermann.
Martin finished the month with a 8-0-0 record, a 1.25 goals against average (GAA), a .957 save percentage (SPCT), and two shutouts. He made 20 or more saves in each game he played and did not allow more than two goals in any contest. Martin shutout the Rockford IceHogs on November 16th, and he then blanked the Danbury Trashers on November 30th for his league leading second shutout. The 23-year-old native of Three Hills, Alberta currently leads the UHL with a 1.22 GAA and a .958 SPCT.
