Brandon, MB. - The Wheat Kings finally know who they will be facing in the first round playoff series.
The Western Hockey League has confirmed dates for the Wheat Kings vs Edmonton Oil Kings best of seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series.
Brandon will host games one and two this Thursday and Friday nights at Westman Communications Group Place, before the series shifts to Edmonton for games three, four and five.
Should a sixth and / or seventh game be necessary they will be played back at Westman Communications Group Place on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 5th and 6th.
This marks the fourth time in the past five years that Brandon has faced Edmonton in post-season play. While the Wheat Kings beat the Oil Kings four games to one in 2015, Edmonton won series in both 2014 and 2012.
During the 2015-16 regular season, Edmonton won three of four games.
The Oil Kings earned the right to meet Brandon by beating the hometown Medicine Hat Tigers 6-4 in Tuesday's "winner take all" tiebreaker after both clubs tied for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Division.
