New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats ended their 2008 Season this Labor Day afternoon, and it was indeed a labor of love for both the victorious Rock Cats and 6,058 of their most ardent fans. With today's big holiday crowd gathered under a cloudless sky, the Rock Cats ended the year on two winning notes: the team was victorious on the diamond, 3-1; and the fans made the 2008 turnstiles at New Britain Stadium click a record number of 365,758 times!
The Rock Cats' 2008 Total Single Season Attendance of 365,758 established a new all-time franchise record. The previous all-time high was set just last year when the 2007 Rock Cats attracted 341,816 patrons. The 2008 total topped last year's total by 24,942 fabulous fans.
The New Britain franchise closed the campaign with a Per Game Average of 5,301 fans, meaning that in 71 home dates at New Britain Stadium, the Rock Cats played to nearly 88% of total capacity (6,146).
