April 21, 2008 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Peoria Chiefs News Release
The Peoria Chiefs and O'Brien Field will host the 3rd Annual Bradley Night on Friday April, 25th when the Chiefs play the Fort Wayne Wizards at 6:30 PM. Students, faculty, and administration members showing a valid Bradley ID at the box office will receive half-price admission.
As a part of the night, the Chiefs will recognize the 2007 Men's Soccer team that qualified for the Elite 8 this past season in a pre-game ceremony. The team finished the year
16-6-4, including three wins in the NCAA tournament. Head coach Jim DeRose as well as Bradley University President Joanne Glasser will be in attendance to throw out ceremonial first pitches. The soccer team will also be available at the beginning of the game on the concourse for a meet-and-greet.
The Chiefs players and coaches will be wearing a special BU style uniform on the field, with the jerseys being auctioned off as part of a silent auction during the game. After the game, the game-worn jersey of Chiefs manager Ryne Sandberg as well as a team autographed jersey will be auctioned off live on the field. The proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Dahlquist Memorial Fund in memory of former Bradley soccer player Danny Dahlquist.
