
Barthmaier promoted to Salem

LEXINGTON, KY. - The Houston Astros announced today that pitcher Jimmy Barthmaier has been promoted to the Salem Avalanche of the Carolina League. Outfielder Josh Flores will replace Barthmaier on the Lexington Legends active roster.
Barthmaier compiled an 11-6 record and a 2.27 ERA in 25 starts for the Legends. Barthmaier was twice named SAL Pitcher of the Week.
Flores arrives in Lexington after hitting .335 with eight home runs and 25 RBI in 59 games for Greeneville. Flores was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 June Amateur Draft out of Triton Junior College.
