Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - While the Ottawa REDBLACKS were booking their trip to the Grey Cup in Edmonton next week, the 67's fed off the same energy all the way in North Bay as they as they downed the Battalion 7-4.
The win extended Ottawa's record to 19-straight games with at least point with a record of 16-0-3 in that span.
Tye Felhaber, Sasha Chmelevski, Jack Quinn, Austen Keating and Kody Clark all tickled twine for Ottawa, while Sam Bitten scored twice for Ottawa. The 67's have scored 15 goals in their past two games.
A high-scoring first period saw Felhaber, Chmelevski and Quinn combine their efforts to give the 67's a 3-0 lead before North Bays's Mason Primeau cut the lead to two goals just before the end of the period.
The Battalion went on to tie things up at three in the second, with goals coming from Adam McMaster and Justin Brazeau. Keating gave the 67's a one goal lead just about five minutes before both teams headed to the locker room.
It was in the third period that Ottawa really took control of the game. Kody Clark scored one minute in, while Sam Bitten added his 5th and 6th goals of the year, giving the 67's a 7-3 lead. McMaster would score his second of the game in the dying minutes to make it 7-4, but it was too little too late.
Cedrick Andree made 20 saves in his league-leading 16th win of the season. Sam Bitten had a four-point game, while Chmelevski and Clark had three points each.
The 67's will be looking to stretch this impressive unbeaten in regulation streak to twenty games as soon as Wednesday, November 21st, as the Barber Poles will be hosting the Oshawa Generals at TD Place.
